Training day
Thanks to all who attended our Pointing training this morning. We’d a full house and a very enjoyable session with people from Netherlands(via Sligo), Waterford, Limerick, Kilkenny, Tipp, west Cork and East Cork. Great bunch of people.

Glin Bathing Lodge getting some repairs and Secil Lime Shelter coat in Co. Limerick. Nice job Ben. To all the early morning sea swimmers at the front strand, Youghal, you should get onto the council. You deserve one of these.
Secil Cork Board breathable insulation system from start to finish looks great and will keep everyone dry and cosy. Very nice work again Derek and thanks for the photos.
Best of luck to Greywood Arts with their new arts and culture centre in Killeagh. We love the colour and texture of this traditional lime harling, using our Secil lime and executed by the talented local plasterer Derek Mangan
Client sends us this today and asked for a recommendation. Yeah, it will need lime pointing and rendering but… its’s so unusual to see a random rubble stack so eroded of the mortar and yet still stable that it’s almost a shame to touch it.
St. Marys Collegiate Church, Youghal. A thousand odd years of history and worship at this place, built centuries before the reformation. With a little care and attention, it will last forever. Nice photo @kieran.mac of the winter frosts.
Spot the Stoneware Studios sign hidden behind my chief hecklers. We had an enjoyable day last Saturday in Muckross, Killarney. ‘Great to field lots of questions from people repairing their old buildings in Kerry. Thanks to Victoria and Toddy for organising the event. Shout out to my fella exhibitors Ruairi Dennison, Gareth O’Callaghan and Peter
We’d a lovely bunch of people in for some Lime training on Thursday. Thanks to all who attended. We’re looking forward already to the next one on the 20th.
Some, slightly quirky some might say, brick and stone work by Kieren Ahern for his brother Dan on his soon to be finished very cool house on the waters edge here locally. Great to see fellas trying out styles, ways of doing things, and using the materials we have to hand.
Secil RB Lime render coming on nicely in Rathpeacon with Liam Sloane and the Youghal men on the tools overseen by Summerhill Construction. Working on in-situ quoins this week and all looking great.
